I'm going through mountain withdrawals.

 It legit feels like the transfer left just as soon as it came. Wow. So a lot has happened! First off, trio. We've been in a trio with Hermana Estrada for the last week covering two areas. It's been crazy but super fun to be able to spend time with these two chicas! We were able to go to activities and a baptism of our cute member friend Eduardito. But over all I feel like we've been spending most of our time running around with backpacks and food and riding the bus to the four corners of the earth.

     But yeah, like I said, TRANSFERS! There have been some big changes. I will be going to the island Tenerife to serve in San Cristóbal de la Laguna. I'm pretty sure it's the island where Christopher Columbus made a pit stop just before going to the Americas. I'm so excited! I've been told it's the greenest part of the island and that there are some killer hikes. Or in other words, the Lord is sending me to die in paradise. As far as my new companion goes, I won't find out until tomorrow because.... I'M TRAINING! I'm too excited! Also a little nervous because I'm training her in an area that I don't even know but hey! You live and you learn. :) 

     As I've been reflecting on my time here in B9 Carabanchel all I can be is grateful. These have legit been the most fulfilling and difficult transfers of the mission. I've learned and grown in ways I didn't even think were possible before the mission. I am sad to say goodbye to my family here but I know it's my time to go. I'm grateful for the time I was able to spend with Sandra, Isa Mar, Antonia, Alexandra and all the other incredible friends I've made here. I'm grateful for all I've learned from Hermana Snyder and Hermana Ibáñez. It's truly been quite the adventure. 

     I don't know if I mentioned how we met Antonia but I think it's a good story and it's strengthened my testimony of diligence and the promise that "No effort is wasted." Hermana Snyder and I found her long ago, my first transfer here. To this day I still don't remember the actual initial conversation or really anything about our first encounter. My guess is that Hermana Snyder commented on her jewelry or clothing. Anyway I saw her name and number, next to it I wrote "CALL HER" so I figured she was pretty important. I called her a few times and every time she would tell me that it would be better to call the next week or later. We found her in the beginning of March and I didn't get to meet with her until the middle of June. She canceled once or twice before we were finally able to meet. Since we've started meeting p, she's been coming to church, praying, reading the BOM and truly learning how to follow the Savior. I didn't think I could do much in just one transfer and there were times I thought I wasn't making a difference.  It when I saw her yesterday with her lower lip trembling and tears in her eyes I knew that I had been doing exactly what the Lord needed me to do. I'm grateful for her and for what she's taught me. Im also grateful for Hermana Snyder and all the other missionaries that served here before me.

     Anyway I feel like I'm just rambling my life in an email so I should probably stop and enjoy these last moments with my pineapple friends.

The BOM is the best. Read it.

Dear fam,

Last week feels like a month ago. So much has happened this week I can't even believe it. We had mission council on Tuesday, on Thursday we had intercambios with the Móstoles Hermanas Moyle and Vannucci, Friday we had interviews with president, and Saturday we had a ward church cleaning activity. So yeah, really busy and a lot of running around.

Right now our mission is focusing on using the Book of Mormon and teaching the message of the Restoration simply and clearly. President Pack has challenged us to read the entire BOM by the end of the transfer (July 24) in order to do so we need to read like 20 pages a day. He has also invited us to teach the message of the Restoration to every single member in our mission in under 4 minutes. It's been really fun practicing and improving in teaching in this way, as we make the time we have less we are able to really focus on what's important in the lesson and it has also helped me in improving my Spanish to speak more clearly.

But more than anything, we've been focusing on receiving revelation and acting on impressions by the spirit. On Saturday we had a few plans and some back up plans in the evening. And like any usual Saturday night, the people who actually "have time" to meet with us, failed us and we were left to pass by a few old investigators. As we were switching trains in the metro (subway) we found the Elder's recent convert Alexandra. Although we had planned to go to the other side of town, when she asked us where we were going and what we were doing, without hesitation I replied, "We're going to go get some ice cream and you're coming with us." My comp had the same impression so we just went with it. Alexandra's the only member in her family and has been working a lot. With all the other trials she's been facing recently, she felt overwhelmed and confused. We were able to share a small message with her and more than anything, we were there to listen to her. It was a really small thing and may even seem insignificant, but I knew in that moment that I was exactly where the Lord wanted me to be, doing exactly what He wanted me to do.

Although not everything went our way that night, it went the Lords way, there is always a reason and always a solution to everything we go through in our lives. As we look out and think of others we will be more able to find those reasons and we can become the instruments in the Lord's hands.

I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve a full-time mission. It's such an incredible blessing that I wouldn't trade for the world. I know that God lives, He loves us so He sent His son to show us the way. He has given us living prophets to lead us and direct us today. May we all have the courage to serve others and share with them this marvelous message. Thank you for all the prayers and support!

Miracles

This week was too fast. So here's the important parts (:

We had intercambios with the sisters from Hermana Quispe and Hermana
Vannucci! They are my favorite! Hermana Quispe is from Peru and even
taught me how to make rice the Peruvian way. We learned so much
together and I'm so grateful for her!

   The last intercambio we had, Hermana Webster and I contacted a cute
lady named Lacy, well we met on Saturday for the first time and she
brought a friend! We taught them the restoration. The spirit was so
powerful, so when Hermana Snyder started reciting the first vision
Lacy and I couldn't help but cry. She is so prepared. She and her
friend Yedira both came to church on Sunday and they have both
accepted a baptismal date.

   I'm so so grateful for this gospel! I"m so grateful for the
opportunity I have to share it with the people here in Spain.

   I hope you all have a really great week! Pray for miracles and
miracles will come.

Lots of running and a PB&J

        Well this week has been awesome. It started off with the most perfect pday which consisted of having a picnic in a grove of trees in our area (Casa Campo) and eating oreos with Peanut butter. (One of the members here went to Costco and bought legit American Peanut butter #blessings)

We also had another INTERCAMBIO! Whoot whoot!!! I love Intercambios! I always learn new things from all the sisters that I serve with. This time I got to serve with Hermana Webster!!! Whooot!! She is a cute sass from Texas! She's legit the most real person I've ever met when we go contacting. She just stops people and is like, "Hey man, what's up!?" Then goes getting to know them and explains how awesome Christ is and we have their number. She's solid. Hermana Snyder was her trainer so her fantasticness doesn't surprise me too much, what can I say, my comp is the best.

We've been finding really awesome people. (: and on Saturday we were able to meet with an awesome family form Peru! We are teaching them English and are starting to teach them the gospel as well. We are really excited to help them progress as a family. (: 

This week we also got to teach Mari Luz! We've been meeting with Mari Luz for a few weeks now but because of work and transportation situations she hasn't been able to come to church. But this week, SHE CAME! Miracles. She was so happy that she was finally able to come, and we are too! (: 

Today we are going on a little hike with my best friend Alexandra. We made her a PB&J and are wearing pants (: Life is really good.

I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve the Lord here in Carabanchel! I know this is where the Lord wants me to be and I've been learning a TON! I know this church is true with all my heart and I'm so grateful to be a part of it.

We went bowling today!

I LOVE CARABANCHEL! So I'm serving in the ninth ward (Barrio 9) and I love it!! It's a bit different than Villalba but it's really great. (: Villalba was super tranquilo and my area consisted of mostly pueblos. This area I'm in now is all city. We use the metro almost everyday. (Metro=subway) because our area is pretty big and dense. 

So yeah, I love it here! I mentioned it last time I'm sure but my new comp is Hermana Snyder, she is from Syracuse Utah and I love her more than cafe rio burritos! (Which is a lot) She is and incredible missionary and I'm so grateful to be serving with her. I've already learned so much. She is really good at making everything count and at following the spirit. She never ever just "teaches a lesson" she always teaches the people, in contacting, teaching and every situation. She is the most sincere missionary I've ever met and I strive to be more like her. 

We have some really great people we are teaching and this week we've found even more. I'm sure I've said it before, but we have a standard in the mission to contact 25 people everyday. It's been difficult at times but it's really paying off. We've been able to find many people who are really ready. Seriously though, the other day we were taking the bus to a members house and decided to contact the lady in front of us, we got talking to her about how we teach English class and gave her a card. Apparently Anthony man was listening to our conversation and asked us for the information as well. Just under an hour ago, he called and asked if we could teach him english and also that he had interest in learning more about the gospel. Solid. Miracle.

We are meeting with a woman named Mari Luz. I love her so much! It's actually a really cool story how Hermana Snyder found her on the Metro but seriously just talk to everyone, people are ready. She has a baptismal date set up for next month (: she is progressing really well but has to work on sundays. We are praying for her and hope she will be able to find a new job so she can come to church more often.

This week we also taught an incredible lady named Elvira. She was interested in English class but got lost. By the time we found her the clasess were over but we told her we'd teach her anyway. She just started talking and asking questions and we hardly even had any time to teach her english. We will be meeting her and her two sons later this week! We are too excited!

This is truly the Lords work, he knows who's ready and he knows what they need. I know that this church is true with all my heart. I'm so grateful for this opportunity that i have to share this truth with others. 

This week Elder Soares from the Seventy is coming! We will have zone conference tomorrow and then we as leaders will be meeting with him again on Friday. I'm excited to see how the Lord wants us to hasten his work here in Madrid Spain. I love it here! I love the work!!
