Insert my dad saying, "It's Christmas" yep it's November. Yes it's Christmas.

Wow what a week! Well more like week and a half, it feels like forever since I've written. So this week was pretty good! We officially have two progressing investigators! Whoot whoot! My week in a nutshell: Thanksgiving feast with the Zone, Inercambios, miracles with Sadith, New investigator Hernando, we went to the temple today, El Escorial Monastery, all our lights burning out (we still have all our Christmas Lights though so don't worry), finally breaking through (literally they are shredded) those $10 boots I bought last min before I left and I can still breath... kinda... the inversion kills man.

But yeah the most important thing I wanted to write about is our miracle with Sadith! Sadith is incredible and I know I've introduced her before so I'll just get to it. Last weekend we felt prompted to teach her about keeping the commandments we studied and prayed and planned but when we got to the door step to her piso we knew we needed to change the game plan. We prayed again before entering and 100% relied on the spirit. As we started the lesson I felt prompted to follow up on her reading and daily prayers. She told us that she hadn't been reading and that she thought it might be a good idea to just read. So that's what we did. I prayed and prayed in those minuscule moments to try to remember a good chapter about keeping the commandments without the "and he shall be thrust down to hell" part. So yeah, I was at a blank. I asked her where she was at in her study, she said 1 Nephi 3....

My heart just exploded with happiness and I knew that that was exactly what Heavenly Father wanted us to do. The Spirit truly testified to her and to us that we need to be obedient to all of God's commandments and that the Lord truly will provide a way. I invited her to read every day and to attend church. She came!

The next lesson we had with her was even more of a miracle. We knew we wanted to teach her about baptism and covenants. Again we made the lesson plan prayed and studied. When we got there we still felt confident of what to teach. I followed up again about how her Scripture study had been for the week. She told us that she had found time to read the Book of Mormon just by taking it everywhere with her. She said she studied it between classes or on the bus ride home. She then proceeded in sharing two scriptures that impacted her deeply. She explained that they were the answers to her prayers. She told us of her desire to be baptized, we asked the baptismal questions and picked a date. It was incredible. 

I'm so grateful for the commandments of the Lord. No matter how small and simple they may seem they really do make a difference. I know that God answers prayers, that he wants to help us in our lives. I know that that BOM is the word of God and that as we apply it to our lives we will know what the Lord would have us do. I'm so grateful for the opportunity we have to attend church every Sunday to partake of the sacrament and to strengthen each other's testimonies. These things are small but I truly believe that, 

"...by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise.

   And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very small means the Lord doth confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls." Alma 37:6-7

I'm so grateful to be one of the small and simple, I hope you all have a fantastic 25 days of serving this December.

Villalba and Los Molinos

Well it's true. I officially have two hearts in Spain. I love Villalba! It took a while but I know I'm where I'm supposed to be and I'm grateful to be here. This week we had Zone training and guess who my sister training leader is! Hermana Schriever! She was my trainer and first companion in the field. It was so good to see her again, she's my favorite :) 

President and Hermana Pack have been emphasizing the importance of the Book of Mormon and sharing it with everyone. By using the Book of Mormon more in my studies, proselitismo and teaching I have truly felt the spirit more consistently. If you feel a lack of guidance in your life right now, I invite you to start reading the Book of Mormon again. It doesn't need to start in Nephi, just start. And I promise you will feel the guidance of the spirit more abundantly in your life.

President also instructed us to stretch our proselyting boundaries. We always tend to find ourselves contacting in the same area everyday but we are now trying to look beyond and contact in pueblos where there might not be a member. So Hermana Phillips and I did just that. We went to a beautiful pueblo called Los Molinos. It was incredible. I've never met nicer people and I know that God truly has people prepared in these other somewhat unknown areas.

We got to eat with the bishop and his wife as well this weekend. I'm so grateful for this Ward! The bishop and his wife just had the opportunity to help their friends Ninez and Kike enter into the waters of baptism with their family. Ninez has such a strong desire to follow Christ and she was so blessed to have a good friend to show her how. I hope to be more like Monica, the bishops wife, as I share simple truths of the gospel.

I'm so grateful to be serving here and for the opportunities I have everyday to invite others to come into Christ.

Hello all!

Right now I am siting on a train to MADRID! Too pumped. I´ll be serving in Villalba with Hermana Phillips! I don´t have a picture of her yet but she´s in the same group as Hermana Davis I will be sure to tell you all about her and Villalba next week ;)

Well I'm super sorry I didn't even write a big email last week, we went to the islands again for our last P-day together, it was lovely and honestly so nice not having to stress about writing (sorry not sorry) So these past few weeks have literally been a blur, so I'll just tell you what I remember.

Last week we had our final lesson with our Recent Convert Pedro! Pedro is my favorite. I sure did not cry, nope, and he didn't either. Well actually we were all crying. The spirit was so powerful. We reviewed the baptismal covenant and he bore his testimony of Jesus Christ. This Gospel really has completely changed his life. He is a light to me and I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to see his conversion process. I reread over his teaching record. When the missionaries found him he was a grumpy middle aged man who didn't really believe anything, but now you'll never find him without a smile on his face and the light of Christ in his eyes. 

Sometimes when we contact in the street people will ask us, "Do people actually listen to you? Do people actually change?" I love when they ask and I can proudly state, "Yes!" There really are people out there who are ready and looking to receive the Gospel. It may be your neighbor, it may be a family member, it may be one of your closest friends. But sometimes they don't know what they are looking for, and that's why we all need to open our mouths and share what we know. I invite you all in some way shape of form, to do as President Monson instructed and share a part of the plan of Salvation with someone you know. Everyone has questions and we have the answers.

Well the train ride is over and we are going to go be productive. My new comp is Hermana Phillips and she is legit the cutest. 

I'm so grateful for the opportunity I had to serve in Vigo it really is like home to me and I look forward to the day I can visit them again :) I learned so much in. Vigo, I'm so grateful for Hermana Schriever and Hermana Davis they made each day a wonderful day, even when they weren't so wonderful. I'm so excited to meet my cute new family :)

Wow. I tell you sir wow.
 I honestly can't believe it's the end of the transfer. Missions are
made up of transfers, a 6 week time period spent with a specific
companion in a specific area. At the end of each transfer we find out
whether or not we stay in our area or leave. We also find out if our
companion stays or leaves the area.
 So I guess first things first, Saturday morning my companion Hermana
Schriever was called by President Pack to be a Sister training leader
in B1! (One of the 4 zones in Madrid) I absolutely love Hermana
Schriever and I'm going to miss her so much! I've learned so much from
her and we've just become the best of friends, something I didn't know
could be possible before the mission for some reason. I mean yeah,
we've had hard times, but as we've chosen to love each other and make
goals together we've been able to increase the capacity of love in our
hearts, for each other and for those we have served. So yeah. I'M
STAYING IN VIGO!
 Whoot whoot! My whole district has changed (there are two other sets
of Elders in my area-Vigo) But it will be so good! I haven't met my
companion yet, and I actually have no idea who she is at all
because...

I"M TRAINING!
 Yeah, I don't know how that's possible either. I'm not even done with
my 12 week training yet because we had a 5 week transfer. But hey! I
am praying my hardest and know that if the Lord thinks I can do it, I
can do it. 1 Nephi 3:7 I am actually on my way to Santiago to wait
there for my new compie. There's no way I could ever serve this
mission alone. There is no way, I'd be able to speak Spanish well
enough or teach lessons well enough without the spirit to guide me.
 12 Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak;
therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for
in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles
we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name
forever. (Alma 26:12)
 This isn't my work, it's His. And because it's His, it will be done.
I'm going to miss my district a lot, we are like family. But I'm proud
of them, we've surely been through the refiners fire but we've all
come out a lot stronger because of it.
 The time on the mission is so short. The time we have here on earth
is so short. Let us lift up our heads and try a little harder to be a
little better, life's too short to give only a half hearted effort.
 I know that Christ lives and that as we live his gospel, through
faith, repentance, retaining a remission of sins, and enduring to the
end, we can reach our full potential and make the most of this life.
You keep going. Don't you quit. The world is at your fingertips and
God's given you all the tools you need to grasp it. Prayers to all of
you and your families.

Murica

Hello family and friends!
Guess what! We have INVESTIGATORES! I feel like it's taken forever but
we have been working hard and we have been able to find the most
amazing people! We now officially have 5 new friends who are seriously
looking into the church, who are reading their scriptures and praying!
It's a miracle. I'm so grateful!
        Oh and happy 4th of July which is like my favorite holiday so you
best be enjoying those fireworks and wearing red, white and blue! I
love AMERICA! As promised Hermana Schriever and I are making another
apple pie! I'm also wearing my navy blue pencil skirt and I bought a
water melon. Today is a good day.
        I love finding ways to use my talents in missionary work. Last week
we made some cute little quotes, "Your future is as bight as your
faith" to give to people. It was actually really good. We started
teaching a 14 year old girl , Wendy, from English class. Her mom is
inactive but Wendy has a lot of questions about the church. I was
grateful for the little hand out because it helped her to recognize
that we love her and it was also an easy way to transition from only
teaching her Spanish to teaching her the gospel. We also used them to
invite another less active member to a YSA activity. It's super fun to
make them and it's always so nice to get a little gift :)
        Transfers are next week! CRAZY! I have a feeling that my whole
district is going to change, which makes me sad, but all will be well!
I'm so grateful for Hermana Schriever and I really hope she can stay
here with me!

Vigo = Home

I feel like this week has just been a pack full of miracle. Our Rama
is fantastic. I feel like I am finally at home here in Vigo, I know
almost all the members and I'm really good at giving besitos, my
district leader is actually really impressed because all the other
sisters avoid besoing if that's a verb. (Beso=kiss, we kiss ladies on
both cheeks to greet them here) my Spanish has also improved
dramatically. I am able to express myself and keep up with most
conversations. I can even joke around! The gift of tongues is so real.
   For my language study, I read the BOM out loud and sometimes I
review grammar principals. But I'd really say that reading the Book of
Mormon has helped me the most. The church is true.
   Speaking of the BOM we had an experience contacting the is week
that was really special. We stopped the lady and she talked about how
she was from Nicaragua and how she was Catholic. We decided to share
with her the BOM and when we told her that it was the record of the
ancient Americans and that Christ visited them too, she was literally
almost in tears. And explained how faithful the people were where
she's from. We got her contact information and will hopefully be
meeting with her this week. I love the people here!
   Contacting is good. I am really familiar with the area now, well a
lot of it, the area is huge and a half. And like I said last time
people are starting to notice us. We've received more referrals the
last two weeks than the whole last transfer all together. Blessings on
blessings on blessings!
   One other cool experience. Last week we felt prompted to pass by a
less active young lady, we'll call her J. When we knocked on her door
no one was there. We turned to go down the elevator only to find J in
the elevator bringing groceries home. We had a lesson with her active
mom and her and invited J to church. She didn't seem too interested
but kinda mumbled, "yeah" and SHE CAME! But that's not all, the ward
was so welcoming to her! The girls her age embraced her, inviting her
to activities and to be their friend. (This was last week) J came
again this week and she was just so happy to be there. God truly does
love his children and he knows what's best for them. If there's
someone new in the ward or someone who doesn't usually come just love
them. J's summer was completely changed and all it took was an
invitation and the welcoming arms of the Rama members. Invite people
to activities or to church, I don't know anyone who doesn't like
having friends or feeling loved. Serve each other!

I know I don't really have to tell you all this, you are all already fantastic.

Spanish Apple Pie

Hello all!
Well i guess it's the first week of summer for all of you out there!
Congrats! Go on a butt load of hikes and go swim in a lake or the
ocean or you know what, just swim for me. Oh and while you're at it,
eat yourself a classic PB&J with chocolate milk or a Capri sun. Yeah,
that sounds good.

This week was full of goodness! First off hiking in the islands! I
already talked a bit about it last week but if you ever make your way
up here in Vigo, you need to go to the Islands. They're wonderful. One
thing that's really cool about Europe is that there are a good amount
of castles, at least up north here, or if not castles really awesome
old magical buildings, it's a lot different from the states.

Speaking of the States we had a Cultural night on Friday and it was
really great! My comp and I made her mom's home made apple pie and the
elders made hamburgers, I stole the Apple Pie recipe so that when the 
4th of July comes around I can celebrate it better and because it just
tasted so good! Here's a pic and you can kinda see the pie. Yum. America.

Missionaries in Vigo

Last week of the transfer

Wow has this transfer gone by faster than my moms peanut butter bars
at a party! Speaking of which, I miss them. So all of you who get to
enjoy them, eat another one for me, I want like 12.
   Because I'm still training nothing really crazy happened with me in
this transfer so yay! I'm still in Vigo and I still get to enjoy the
marvelous companionship of Hermana Schriever. This week was really
good but also just really strange because of how normal it's been. We
didn't travel anywhere crazy and we didn't have a baptism so it was a
pretty stress free week. We have just been focusing a TON on
contacting and teaching members in our area to find more people to
teach. So far we have no one but that's okay! We will keep working
hard and be obedient!
   Pedro is doing so so well. He is my favorite. This week he was
pretty sick so we didn't get to meet with him but he still did his
best to come to church on Sunday. His faith and diligence is
inspiring, he is incredible. We are no longer teaching Ricardo which
is sad but in time he will be ready.
   Last week for P day was super fun though! We went to this cool
park, parque de Castro which has a castle at the top! It was super fun
to go on a kind of hike and I got to wear pants!!! It was so
wonderful. I forgot how fun it is to run and jump and do cartwheels
and climb things. Maybe that's why sisters wear skirts.
   For Pday this week I'd like to buy some art supplies, there's a
super cute lady here named Tomasa who wants me to paint a portrait of
her. I'm to excited. I don't remember the last time I held a paint
brush. Well I do. But it feels too long ago! I'm excited to use my
talents to serve the people here!
